From June 13 to September 2, 2024, you will find an exciting light installation in the foyer of the canteen of the Studierendenwerk Karlsruhe on the South Campus of the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology. The Virtual Water light installation by finep uses illuminated water canisters to illustrate the water used in the production of various (everyday) products. The installation is part of the European educational project Water of the Future. The 'Water of the Future' project is funded by the European Union's Development Education and Awareness Raising (DEAR) program. finep is responsible for the content.
During the almost three-month exhibition period, visitors to the Mensa am Campus Süd were able to find out for themselves how much water their morning coffee or a mango, for example, really consumes.
The "Virtual Water" light installation is a joint initiative of the Studierendenwerk Karlsruhe and the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT). The light installation is part of the Klima.Länd.Tage Baden-Württemberg campaign.
